It´s an unprecedented situation. And it needs the engagement of all of us.
Besides our own fundraising initiative at gofundme.com (follow here), we´d like to recommend to our german friends a list of trustworthy organizations collecting money for those in need. The list has been published by the Deutsches Zentralinstitut für soziale Fragen and you can find the list here (PDF).
In the highly dynamic events, it turned out that money is faster than donations in kind. With donated money, the helpers and volunteers at the polish-ukrainian border can quickly organize what´s needed at the moment and send help.
